students.  Many students are working to improve their articulation skills -- pronouncing speech sounds clearly and correctly.  Others are learning to use their voice in a healthy, efficient manner.  Still others are learning to use a fluent, relaxed speech.  Many of our students are working to improve their language skills -- their ability to understand what they hear and read -- and to express their thoughts in a coherent, clear manner.  We work with teachers and parents to identify students who need speech and language services and to help students use their best communication skills in all settings. We can be reached at 651.293.8965."

Literacy Program
"Reading and writing go together, and that is the key to a Balanced Literacy Program.  Students from Grade One through Grade Six visit my classroom.  I believe that all students can succeed, and therefore in my small classes, we are building upon these processes. My students are learning about themselves and are developing attitudes and habits that will last a lifetime.  Through their writing, they discover their voices and refine their instincts as readers.  From their first experiences with the printed word, in the early grades, throught their later years, they are expanding their abilities to take notice of their individual strengths, achieve the standards set by our school district and enjoy their accomplishments.

It is with great pleasure to see a student excited about their writing or asking 'May I read now?'  Sharing and expressing their writing, whether it is a thought, a memory, or a report, is something that students at Mann are proud of.  Small groupings allow students to take risks and grow their confidence with their ability.  Using reading and writing in harmonious concern enables learners to draw on these complimentary processes at the same time they work to construct meaning.  To watch a student enjoy what they do with confidence is the key to a lifetime of satisfaction in their later school years. Please feel free to call me with questions.  I can be reached at 651.293.8965"
