On March 12, 2008, Farmer Nelson visited the 3rd grade with a pig named Perfect. He came so the 3rd graders could have fun and learn about pigs.

A kid named Aiden had a chance to hold Perfect. He said, “The middle of the hoof is really soft. When you

pet towards the head it feels prickly, but when you pet the opposite direction it feels softer.”

After Aiden was done holding Perfect we all sat in a circle and Perfect ran around and nibbled hands and sweaters.

Here are some facts. We learned pigs are used for many different types of things like glue,

pork, bacon, ham, and baseballs. Pigs’ tails are curly when they’re awake and straight when they’re asleep. When full grown they weigh 500 pounds. There is grain, wheat, corn, and vitamins in their food. Pigs use their noses to find food in the ground.

It was a great time learning and seeing Perfect!
