Every day begins with a welcome and our morning meeting when we take attendance. The purposes of morning meeting are many. It helps children feel welcome and known, creates trust and increases students' confidence. It also encourages cooperation and improves communication skills.  Soon after we jump right into our Readers and Writer's Workshop, portion of the day. Activities include: making words, journaling, poems and making great books. The rest of the morning is time doing Math Workshop.

It's off to the cafeteria for lunch and later we go outside (most days) for recess.  The afternoon begins with quiet time when the children have an opportunity to stretch out and listen to stories and music. On to prep either gym or science.  When we return we might have a mystery reader (guest reader), active learning , book buddies with forth graders or view a Reading Rainbow. Every day is full of great activity, excitement and learning. Arrange a time to visit the school and see for yourself what a great place this is.
