The Library / Media Center is centrally located in the building for easy access by students and teachers and contains thousands of books and reference materials for students.

Here's just a sample of what is available to Horace Mann students in the library:

Over 19,000 books!  (2,750 fiction, 8,700 Non-Fiction, 3,300 Easy, 1,310 Accelerated Reader, 60 Language, 900 Series, 700 Reference and over 1,200 checked out at a given time).

You'll also find the library has several computers

available to students which are connected to the internet; a computerized card catalog; a book donation program; monthly library/book related theme activities; circulating periodicals; a huge reference section - several sets of encyclopedias, dictionaries & atlases; Reading is Fundamental book distribution program; Audio/Visual CVR collection; Accelerated Reader Program; and a complete file of book, classroom and audio visual catalogs for ordering.

In addition to being a resource center for students, the Library / Media Center is used regularly as a meeting place

for PTA, Site Council, Girl Scouts and other organizations.

Parent volunteers are very active in running the Library.

A highlight of each year is the annual Scholastic Book Fair!
