The Horace Mann School Instrumental Music program is available to all the 5th & 6th graders.  The students attend one 30 minute small group lesson and one 50 minute large group rehearsal per week.  In addition, some of the more advanced players have the opportunity to play in a small ensemble working on more challenging music. The band typically performs 2 concerts in the spring; one during the school day for the students and an evening concert in another location.  In the recent past, concerts have been held at the University of St. Thomas in conjunction with the Longfellow Humanities Magnet School Band.
