5th and 6th grade students prepared to run the city of Biztown during the last weeks of February. 5th and 6th graders completed job applications and resumes in preparation for an exciting program at the Junior Achievement Building on White Bear  | | Parent volunteers made the interviews possible. |
Avenue. Parent volunteers helped interview the students who applied for positions such as Mayor, business owner, and city planner.

their reading, writing, and math skills in real-life, practical activities, learning to run businesses and government, manage a checking account, and setting aside money for savings and investments.
The project is just one of several high quality, rigorous learning experiences that 5th and 6th graders experience at Horace Mann School.
"It's a lot of work to prepare to run the city," said one student, "But it's also a lot of fun!"
