Mary Wagers
DSCF0862_5This is Mary's fifth year of working for Discovery Club. She is new to Horace Mann, which she is very excited about. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2000 with a degree in Psychology and French. She is currently seeking a Master's in Education in ELL at the University of St. Thomas. She hopes to make multi-cultural learning fun for her group of kindergarteners.

Liz Rauer-Kramer, Site Manager
P1016614001Liz is glad to be be back at Horace Mann Discovery Club. Discovery Club has added a 5th group this year as there seems to be more need for care after school. The staff and families at Horace Mann continue to be a great support for Discovery Club which make it a great place to be!

Lisa Engstrom, Group Leader
DSCF0899Lisa comes to Horace Mann from Highland Park Elementary where she spent her first year as a Discovery Club group leader. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2005 with a degree in psychology with an emphasis in education. She is looking forward to working with the first and second graders in her group this year and is very happy to be at Horace Mann.

Travis Finlayson, Group Leader
P1016613001Travis, Group Leader for the 4th, 5th and 6th Graders, grew up in Mankato, MN and in 2001 moved to the Twin Cities to attend the University of Minnesota.  While doing undergraduate work he became involved with the University YMCA and worked as a "Y-Tutor" with a mentoring program known as "Y Buddies."  A 2006 U of M Grad - Travis is glad to be at Horace Mann School and a member of the DC Staff. 

Kate Gundersen, Group Leader
P1016631001Kate, is a current student at Normandale Community College where she is pursuing a degree in teaching. Long term - her hopes are to work with kindergartners (as long as they are not taller than she is!). Kate is the Group Leader for the 1st and 2nd Graders and is excited to be at Horace Mann School.  

Naomi Schoenberg, Group Leader
P1016615001Naomi works with the second and third graders.  This is her second year at Horace Mann. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelors in Psychology and two years ago she worked as an educational assistant at Como Park Elementary teaching special education swimming. She hopes to provide activities that the children will find challenging, which will allow them to use their creativity. "I am so excited to be working with your children. I think Discovery Club is a great program and that we will have a lot of fun together in this coming year."
